She was born in Mannington, West Virginia, the daughter of Clifford and Lenore Mobley, she earned a degree from Fairmont State College. She taught for ten years in Ohio and 13 years at the Benedict School, a one-room schoolhouse. Eileen was also a member of Portland Church of the Nazarene.
