

Shamrock Softball gets wins over Saranac and Okemos
On Thursday, May 7th, the St. Patrick’s Varsity Softball team hosted the Redhawks of Saranac. The Shamrocks split with the Redhawks winning 12-10 in Game1, and then losing in extra innings in Game 2, 8-9. The Shamrocks had hot bats and played hard in both games, but pitching was a struggle to find the zone for the team, and each game became a battle. Raider Baseball sweeps Olivet and Lakewood
The Raiders hosted DeWitt on Monday, May 11th. DeWitt won the first game 11-0, and the second game 14-3. On Tuesday the 12th, the Raiders traveled to Olivet. Portland 12, Olivet 2 Max Sandborn had a hot bat in the game tallying three hits and four RBIs. Brad Meyers had four hits. Portland Baseball’s Chris Trierweiler earns 200th career win
Last Saturday, Portland baseball hosted Haslett and Fowlerville as part of the Spring Sports Carnival. The Raders lost to Haslett 5-4 in the first game of the day. Portland out hit Haslett 6-4, but the Raiders just left too many runners on base. Brody Moore led the Raider offense with two hits and one RBI. Lady Raiders get two wins over East Lansing
The Portland High School softball team hosted East Lansing on Thursday May 7th. The Raiders won the first game 2-1. Portland tallied eight hits led by Molli Miilu with three hits. Lilly Thelen added two hits. Miilu got the win in the circle going seven innings and striking out seven while holding East Lansing to just two hits. The Raiders won game two 18-4. On Thursday, April 30th, the Shamrocks had a double header with Bath. The Shamrocks won game one 13-3. St. Patrick tallied 13 hits in the game. Brady Leonard had three hits. Shamrock Softball gets two wins at Lake Leelenau, sweeps Potterville
The St. Patrick’s Varsity Softball team traveled to the annual Kris Popp Memorial Softball Tournament at Lake Leelenau St. Mary’s on Saturday, May 2nd. The Shamrocks first faced St. Mary’s and won 18-5. Kennedy Drake closed her first complete Varsity game and held onto 5 strikeouts as well. The team worked offensively and tallied 12 hits. Keith Schrauben to be inducted into Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame
Portland’s Keith Schrauben has been selected as a member of the 2026 class of the MHSFCA Coaches Hall of Fame. To be eligible for this honor, coaches must have a minimum of 20 years of high school coaching in Michigan and/or 100 head coaching wins. Schrauben has spent the last several years as an assistant coach for the Raider football team. In his 49 years of coaching football, his teams have a combined record of 319 wins and 158 losses according to the association. H
