Portland offers Cub Scouting to young boys in the community who are seeking fun and fellowship with other boys. PHS Softball The Lady Raiders picked up two wins over Charlotte on Tuesday, April 21st. Portland won game one 16-6. Molly Miilu drove in six runs on four hits. Bella Spitzley had three hits in the game. Portland won game two 22-2. Spitzley drove in seven runs on four hist for Portland. Lilly Thelen, Miilu, and Madison Daggett each added two hits. PHS announces Athlete of the Month for March, April and May
The PFCU athlete of the month award at Portland High School goes to the student who is just that each and every month of the school year, – that is, assuming he or she is in good academic and behavioral standing, this award goes to the individual each month who was consistently that month’s best athlete and led their team to success. Portland Public Schools Announces Retirement of Athletic Director Kevin Veale
Portland Public Schools announces the retirement of Kevin Veale, Extracurricular Activities Coordinator/Athletic Director, effective July 1, 2026, following 28 years of dedicated service to the district. Veale served 26 years as Athletic Director and began his career in education as a teacher and coach, including two years with Portland Public Schools. Over nearly three decades, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the district’s extracurricular and athletic landscape.

Raider baseball 2-2 after facing Holt and Lansing Sexton
The Portland High School baseball team opened their 2026 campaign on Wednesday, March 25 th , when the Holt Rams came to visit. Shamrock Baseball opens season with two wins over Laingsburg
After the scheduled season opener with Ionia on March 26 th was postponed due to weather, the Shamrocks finally got to open their 2026 season on Monday when they faced Laingsburg.
