Monkey Llama Games Invites the Community to a Free Family Fun Day at Two Rivers Park

On Saturday, August 8, Monkey Llama Games is inviting families from across the region to gather for an afternoon of laughter, music, and community at Free Family Fun Day at Two Rivers Park in Portland.

Family activities begin at 4:00 p.m., featuring giant lawn games, bubbles, prizes, and activities designed for children and families of all ages. At 6:00 p.m., local favorites Piper Avenue will take the stage for a free outdoor concert, performing until 8:00 p.m.

The event is completely free to attend.

“We’re incredibly fortunate to call Portland home,” said James Barron, owner of Monkey Llama Games. “This community is filled with kind, generous people who work hard every day to make this such a warm and welcoming place to live. We have these beautiful parks along our rivers, and we simply wanted to create an opportunity to celebrate the families who make this community so special.”

Monkey Llama Games hopes the afternoon gives parents a chance to slow down, children an opportunity to play together outdoors, and neighbors a reason to gather in one of Portland’s most beautiful public spaces.

The event is also an opportunity to celebrate the arts through the music of Piper Avenue.

“We’re so grateful to Piper Avenue for sharing their time, talent, and creativity with our community,” Barron said. “Their music speaks to our shared humanity and the connections we build with one another. We love their original songs just as much as the covers they perform, and we’re honored they’re helping make this day something families will remember.”

While Monkey Llama Games is known for bringing people together around tabletop games, the inspiration behind Free Family Fun Day reaches beyond the store itself.

“Whether it’s a song or a game, what matters most is who you share it with,” Barron said. “We hope families will spend the afternoon making memories together, enjoying good music, meeting neighbors, and celebrating everything that makes Portland such a wonderful place to call home.”

Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of live music along the Grand River. Food and refreshments will be available nearby through local businesses.
