St. Pat’s Track News

State Finals:

The St. Patrick Varsity Track Team concluded its season at the MHSAA Division 4 State Track and Field Meet at Hudsonville Baldwin Middle School on Saturday.

Representing the Shamrocks were the following athletes:

4x800 - Cozie Brown (So), Amy Shaw (Sr), Izzy Kissane (Fr) & Kenzie Fedewa (8th)

100M - Jacobe Hayes-Dunning (Sr)

200M - Jacobe Hayes-Dunning (Sr)

4x200 - Payton Russman (So), Alex Fedewa (So), Seth Frawley (So) & Jacobe-Hayes Dunning (Sr)

4x400 - Amy Shaw (Sr), Sophie Schrauben (Fr), Kenzie Fedewa (8th) & Izzy Kissane (Fr)

As they have done throughout the entire season, the Varsity Track Team found success at State Finals. The 4x800 relay team of Cozette Brown, Amy Shaw, Izzy Kissane and Kenzie Fedewa kicked off the meet by finishing in 6th place, earning All-State Honors.

Next up was Jacobe Hayes-Dunning who earned All-State honors with his 8th place finish in the 100M. Jacobe also finished 9th in the 200M and wrapped up his career with another record setting performance as part of the 4x200 relay.

The team of Payton Russman, Alex Fedewa, Seth Frawley and Jacobe improved their school record for the 4th meet in a row, running 1:35.97 for a 14th place finish.

To wrap up the meet, the 4x400 team of Amy Shaw, Sophie Schrauben, Kenzie Fedewa and Izzy Kissane finished in 6th place, earning All-State Honors.

Cozette Brown, Izzy Kissane and Amy Shaw also earned Academic All-State Honors.

Honor Roll:

The St. Patrick Varsity Track Team continued to soar on June 1 at the Greater Lansing Honor Roll Track Meet. Every athlete that competed in the meet earned at least one medal (top 6), showing that they can compete with the best in the area. Earning a spot on the podium for their top 3 finish was the 4x200 relay team of Tessa Lawson (Jr), Izzy Kissane (Fr), Kenzie Fedewa (8th) and Rylee Scheurer (9th), running the second fastest time in school history and finishing in 3rd place!!

Other medalists included:

Izzy Kissane (Fr) - 4th place 400M (personal best time)

Amy Shaw (Sr), Sophie Schrauben (Fr), Kenzie Fedewa (8th) & Izzy Kissane (Fr) - 5th place 4x400 relay (season best time)

Jacobe Hayes-Dunning (Sr) - 6th place long jump & 200M

Kenzie Fedewa (8th) - 6th place 400M (personal best time)

MITCA Team State Meet:

Representing St. Patrick for the first time at the MITCA Team Track State Meet on May 29, the Lady Shamrocks exceeded expectations. Coming into the meet as the 10th seed, they put together a true team effort finishing the meet in the 7th place. The team was led by a runner-up finish in the 4x800 (Cozie Brown, Amy Shaw, Izzy Kissane and Kenzie Fedewa) and by personal best runs from Tessa Lawson (200), Arianna FoxElster (200) and Sophie Schrauben (100H & 300H).

CMAC League Meet:

At the varsity track and field CMAC league meet on May 26, the Shamrocks continued to reach new levels of success. For the third meet in a row, the boys' 4x200 relay team of Payton Russman, Alex Fedewa, Seth Frawley and Jacobe Hayes-Dunning set a new school record, finishing in 1:36.70. Overall, the girls team finished 5th, while the boys team finished 7th. Impressively, the team brought home a team record 26 All-League honors with Jacobe Hayes-Dunning finishing as the league champion in the 100M and 200M!!

Regional Meet:

The varsity track team continued to excel, battling through high temperatures and rain on May 15 at Breckenridge, in their regional track meet. After tying the school record twice this season, Jacobe Hayes-Dunning broke the record in the 100M running 11.31. Just a little while later, the boys' 4x200 relay of Payton Russman, Alex Fedewa, Seth Frawley and Jacobe Hayes-Dunning reset their school record, running 1:37.43.

Qualifying for State Finals on June 5th at Hudsonville Middle School:
