Shamrock Softball gets two wins at Lake Leelenau, sweeps Potterville

The St. Patrick’s Varsity Softball team traveled to the annual Kris Popp Memorial Softball Tournament at Lake Leelenau St. Mary’s on Saturday, May 2nd. The Shamrocks first faced St. Mary’s and won 18-5. Kennedy Drake closed her first complete Varsity game and held onto 5 strikeouts as well. The team worked offensively and tallied 12 hits. Macie Leonard went 2:3 with 2 RBIs, Macie Smith went 1:1 with a triple, Lily Sandborn went 1:2 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs, Gracelyn Rockey went 2:3 with 4 runs, and Izzy Anthony went 2:4 with 2 Runs, and 2 RBIs.
In game 2, the Shamrocks faced The Lakers of Glen Lake. Macie Leonard took the win in 4 innings and had 3 strikeouts. The team tallied 8 hits and 10 walks. Naomi Hass went 3:3 and had 5 RBIs and a triple, Gracelyn Rockey went 1:2 with 3 runs, 2 RBIs, and a Homerun. Macie Leonard went 1:1 and had 3 runs. Aislynn King went 1:2 and had 2 RBIs.
The weekend filled with Shamrock team bonding, family adventures and a Varsity Softball and Varsity Baseball tournament champion finish.
On Monday, May 4th, the Shamrocks traveled to Potterville to take on the Vikings in a double header in league matchup. The Shamrocks held the Vikings to two no-hitter games and worked hard at the plate.
In Game 1, the Shamrocks won 19-0, and Kennedy Drake had 6 strikeouts in the 3 innings game and she faced 10 batters. Macie Leonard went 2/2 with a double and 3 RBIs, Morgan Krieger went 1/1 with 2 RBIs, Eden Zimmerman went 1/1 with 1 RBI, and Gracelyn Rockey had 2 RBIs and a homerun.
In Game 2, the Shamrocks won 17-0, and Gracelyn Rockey had 6 strikeouts in 3 innings and she also faced 10 batters. Maria Austen went 2/2 and had 5 RBIs, Gracelyn Rockey went 1/2 with a double and 2 RBIs, Reese Chamberlain went 1/2 with a double and an RBI, and Marian Davlin, Macie Leonard, Aislynn King each added an RBI.
