Shamrock Baseball advances to MHSAA Semi-Finals

After defeating Dansville 5-0 last Thursday to win a district title, the Shamrocks headed to Central Michigan University on Saturday for a rematch with Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart in the Regionals.
The Shamrocks lost to Sacred Heart back on May 17th 10-5 and were eager for revenge in the rematch. The rematch turned into a 12-inning marathon with the Shamrocks winning 5-4 on a sacrifice bunt by Logan Howe.
Charlie Thelen (triple) and Brady Leonard each had two hits and one RBI in the game. Simon White and Jerryd Scheurer each had one hit for St. Patrick.
Scheurer got the win on the mound going five innings and striking out two, while only allowing two hits. Simon pitched seven innings and struck out four while allowing five hits.
The Shamrocks second game of the day would be a Quarter Final match up with Maple City Glen Lake.
Sean Fedewa pitched a gem of a game going seven innings and striking out seven while holding Glen Lake to just five hits.
The Shamrock offense tallied seven hits in the game. Leonard led the offense with two hits. Charlie Thelen, Simon, Tyler Thelen, White and Nathan Fears each had one hit.
With the win the Shamrocks improve to 31-1 on the season. They will face Norway in the MHSAA Division 4 semifinals on Friday. That game is set for McLain Stadium at Michigan State University at 2:30 PM.
The winner of St. Patrick and Norway will face the winner of Plymouth Christian Academy and Petersburg Summerfield in the state championship on Saturday back at MSU.
