Raider Cross Country shows strong results at Shepherd Bluejay Invite
The Boys and Girls Varsity cross country teams had a great showing at the Shepherd Bluejay Invite on Saturday, September 28. What began as a cloudy day turned sunny just in time for the boys' race and throughout the girls' race.
The Boys team finished strong at the Shepherd Bluejay Invite, placing 7th out of 21 teams with 150 runners. Andrew Feldpausch led the way with a stellar performance, clocking in at 17:14 for a medal finish, followed closely by Owen Moore, who also medaled at 17:21. The Freshmen had an impressive outing, with Liam DeWitt achieving a personal best of 17:44, improving by 5 seconds. Donnie Richmond finished at 18:13, just shy of his own PR. Rounding out the team were dual-sport athletes Kehyan Page (football) at 19:53 and Tanner McNair (soccer) at 21:27.
The Girls team tackled the hot conditions, finishing 12th out of 20 teams with 140 runners. Avery Wezensky earned a medal with a time of 21:11, while Paige Weber finished just outside the medals at 22:11. The team also saw solid performances from Josephine Polasek at 23:35, Izzy Fedewa at 25:10, Clair Lyon with a season-best of 25:49, and Anna Heath at 25:54.
A special shoutout goes to the JV runners who came out to support their teammates. Your encouragement is invaluable and truly helps build our program. Thank you all for your dedication!
