Raider Boys fall to Haslett in Districts

The Portland High School boys basketball season came to an end on Monday night as Portland fell to Haslett in the first round of district play. The final score was Haslett 58, Portland 30.


Portland was led offensively by freshman Dominic Novara with eight points. Freshman Evan Gross added seven points.


Scoring summary by quarter:

1st – 2nd – 3rd – 4th – Final

Portland 13 – 6 – 5 – 6 – 30

Haslett 11 – 15 – 18 – 14 – 58


The Raiders finish their season with an overall 6-15 record. They were 4-6 in the CAAC White.


Haslett advances to play Lansing Eastern on Wednesday night at 7:00 at Portland.


On the other side of the district bracket, Ionia will face Lansing Catholic at Portland at 5:30 on Wednesday.


The district final will be held at PHS Friday night at 7:00 PM.
