Raider Boys defeat Charlotte 50-39

On Friday night, the Portland High School boys basketball team traveled to Charlotte for a CAAC White match-up.

Portland was led offensively by freshman Evan Gross who scored 15 points, including three three-pointers. Junior Marc Nobis added 11 points, including three three-pointers.

Charlotte was led by junior Braden Hill with 20 points.

Portland 16 – 14 – 10 – 10 – 50

Charlotte 8 – 5 – 14 – 12 – 39

With the win, Portland improves to 3-8 overall, 3-3 in the CAAC White. Next week they host non-conference Olivet (11-1 overall) on Wednesday, followed by a league match-up with CAAC Conference leader Ionia (10-2 overall, 5-1 in CAAC White) on Friday.
