Portland volleyball season off to impressive start

The Portland Raiders Varsity Volleyball team has started the season strong, with an initial 8-3-1 record., most recently winning the Carson City-Crystal Invitational, where the Raiders went rounds with Ottawa

Hills (GR) in a five set thriller. Outside hitters Jaylee Pitchford (sr) and Makayla Evansen (so) combined for over 20 kills, and the Portland defense tallied over 140 digs as they outlasted the Bengals.

The Raiders will have a tough homestead in September; hosting: St. Johns (9/7), Lakewood (9/12), and Lansing Catholic (9/19).
