Portland High School Robotics Team seeking Sponsors
The Portland High School robotics team is asking for your help with the upcoming 2021 FIRST robotics competition. This event challenges thousands of teams from across the country to design and build a robot in order to compete at tournaments ranging from local to international in scope. Our team is excited to participate in the coming year but we cannot do so without support.
FIRST robotics is an international league where students have approximately six weeks to design, build, and program a robot in order to compete in tournaments with a yearly theme. Through this process, students learn valuable skills in many areas and are shown to be far more likely to attend college in a STEM field, adding to Michigan’s technical workforce.
Our team was started three years ago by a group of high school students passionate about science and technology. This program is extremely beneficial to students who want real-life experience in engineering, programming, business, leadership, math, and science. With this passionate group, we have twice fielded effective, entirely student-built robots in order to compete across the state. With four seasons of experience behind us, we are ready to take this team to a new level, and we hope that you will join us.
In order to sustain and continue this amazing program, we need your support. Your material or monetary donation is tax-deductible. Anything helps, as we gratefully accept in-kind donations along with monetary contributions. We also need the help of volunteer mentors who can teach students valuable life and business skills and who in return experience the excitement of a competing robotics team. We have many levels of sponsorship with various incentives ranging from advertising to naming rights for the robot. Together we can make a positive impact on the community and on young people’s lives, and we need your support to make it happen.
