Portland Football tops Lakewood, Improves to 4-0



On Friday night, the Portland High School football traveled to Lakewood to face the Vikings in a CAAC white matchup.  The Raiders earned a decisive 42-0 win to improve to 4-0 overall, 3-0 in the CAAC White.

 

Portland’s offensive leaders for the game included junior Nolan Zybtowski with six carries for 87 yards and one touchdown.  Junior Kayden Dickerson had five carries for 47 yards.  Senior Mason McGregor four carries for 46 yards and one touchdown.  Senior Keaton McGreagor had seven carries for 45 yards.  Senior Barrett Brennan had five carries for 12 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Portland’s senior quarterback Dominic Novara was nine of 10 passing for 125 yards and two touchdowns.  Senior Evan Gross had three catches for 71 yards one touchdown.  Senior Christopher Battley had five catches for 58 yards one touchdown. 

 

Junior linebacker Gavin Werner led the Portland defense with eight tackles.  Senior Barrett Spitzley, junior AJ Weber, and senior Jacob Weller each one sack.  Keaton McGregor added an interception for the Raiders. 

 

In terms of total offense, Portland tallied 373 yards to Lakewood’s 12 yards.

Lansing Catholic 58, Eaton Rapids 3

Sexton 20, Charlotte 14 (OT)

 

The Raiders will travel to Lansing Catholic on Friday night.  The Cougars are currently 3-1 overall, 2-1 in the CAAC White with their sole loss coming to Sexton in week two.
