On Friday, the Portland bowling teams took on the Vikings of Lakewood. The atmosphere was electric as a huge crowd of supporters showed up to cheer on the teams.
The girls moved their record to 10-0 with a 30-0 victory. The girls were on fire shooting their best two games of the year. They shot 767 and 742 for a two game series of 1509. 3 girls averaged 150 or better. Savanah Sutton shot 342, Abby Kreiner shot 317 and Keira Moffatt finally broke the 300 threshold with a 300 exactly.
The Boys team won 18-12. They came back after struggling to start the day and won both Baker games to win the match. Special shoutout to Eli Dakin and Dre Cross who struck in the ninth and tenth frames to win the match.
This past weekend the teams travel to Jackson to participate in one of the largest high school tournaments in Michigan, the Mel Wolf tournament.
The girls finished in 12th place out of 23 teams. The boys finished in 16th out of 32 teams. While neither team were happy with where they placed they used the weekend as a learning experience to prepare for regionals.
