Portland bowlers compete in Mel Wolf Invitational

On Saturday, January 24, the Portland Girls Bowling team traveled to Jax 60 to compete in the Mel Wolfe Girls Invitational, a tournament that featured one of the strongest fields of the season. The girls struggled in the opening team game but bounced back nicely in game two. During Baker play, the team showed strong form and consistency, posting solid scores throughout the round.
Leading the charge for Portland was Savanah Sutton with a two-game total of 329. In Bakers, Joslynn Mitchell stepped up with several key strikes that helped propel the team forward.
On Sunday, January 25, the Portland Boys Bowling team competed in the Mel Wolf Invitational. After a slow start, the boys rebounded strong to finish 15th out of 31 teams. The team rolled a 949 game, marking their second-highest team score of the season. Wyatt Spear led the way with the high game of the day at 234, followed by Camden Calkins with a 226 and Zach Edlund with a 213. Easton Pleyte also had a standout performance, bowling his highest varsity game with a 185.
