Planned Power Outage set for November 1st

The City of Portland has announced a planned power outage on Saturday, November 1st at 11:00 PM, and expected to conclude by Sunday, November 2nd at 8:00 AM. Per a city announcement, the scheduled power outage is required to complete work on the new Grant Street Substation, scheduled to begin operation in Spring 2026.

During this time, Consumers Energy will be installing and connecting new 46 kV power lines from their existing system to poles that will serve the City's new substation. This important project will strengthen the electric system and prepare for future growth.
