The Portland High School Cross-Country teams were back in action on Saturday at the Pewamo-Westphalia Invitational, facing off against 12 schools — including several of the top-ranked Division 3 teams in the state.
Girls Race Recap
Leading the charge for the girls' team was Paige Weber, earning a medal with a strong 21:47 finish and placing 30th out of 97 runners. Right behind her, the scoring five put together some huge improvements and solid efforts:
Lauren Spitzley clocked in at 23:00, dropping 35 seconds for a season record.
Veda Smith continued her momentum with a 56-second season record, finishing at 24:44.
Claire Lyon held steady with a time of 26:05.
Addison Cody shattered her previous best with a 1:30 personal record (PR) at 28:29.
Other notable performances included:
Abby Seavey, with a 36-second season record, finishing at 28:36.
Willa Almy ran a strong 29:16.
Peyton Rockey crossed at 31:48.
Jorja McFarland rounded out the team’s effort with a new PR of 32:00.
Boys Race Recap
The boys brought home a 6th-place team finish, led by two medalists in a competitive 113-runner field.
Andrew Feldpausch powered his way to 4th place overall with an impressive time of 16:45.
Owen Moore wasn’t far behind, medaling in 15th place at 17:05.
Helping to seal the team finish were:
Donnie Richmond, clocking 18:06.
Aaron Martinson, who dropped 33 seconds for a new PR of 18:13.
James Feldpausch, running 19:50 to round out the scoring five.

Aiden Espinoza – 23:15 (35-second PR)
Tate Kidder – 23:39 (22-second PR)
Noah Huffine – 23:54, earning a season record by 1 second
