On Friday, May 9th, the Raiders traveled to Holt.

 

Game 1: Portland 6, Holt 1

 

Barrett Brennan (double) and Evan Thelen each had two hits for the Raiders.  The Portland offense combined for seven hits in the game.

 

Thelen got the complete game win on the mound going seven innings and holding the Rams to just two hits while striking out eight. 

 

Game 2: Portland 8, Holt 3

 

Paul Roberts got the win on the mound pitching five and a third inning and striking out six.  Mason Vallier pitched one and two thirds’ innings.

 

Gunnar Williams led Portland offensively going three for three with two doubles and an RBI.    AJ Weber and Thelen (double) each added two hits.  Brody Moore had a double in the game. 

 

On Tuesday, May 13th, the Raiders hosted Eaton Rapids.

 

Game 1: Portland 1, Eaton Rapids 0

 

The Raiders and Greyhounds were tied 0-0 in the bottom of the eighth when Moore doubled in the winning run for Portland.  Tyler Smith added two hits for the Raiders.

 

Thelen got the win on the mound striking out ten in eight innings and holding ER to just two hits. 

 

Game 2: Portland 2, Eaton Rapids 1

 

Paul Roberts earned the win pitching for Portland.  He allowed just three hits and one run (zero earned) in a seven-inning appearance.  Roberts struck out eight.

 

Brennan led Portland going two for three with one RBI. 

 

On Thursday, May 15th, Portland traveled to DeWitt.

 

Game 1: DeWitt 6, Portland 2

 

Tyler Smith hit a solo home run to left field for the Raiders.  Williams added one hit for Portland.

 

Williams got the loss on the Mound for Portland going three innings.  Vallier also pitched three innings.

 

The DeWitt bats were hot and the Panthers tallied 12 hits.

 

Game 2: Portland 13, DeWitt 2

 

Thelen drove in five runs on two hits for the Raiders in game two.  Brennan had three hits including a double and one RBI.  Moore had two hits.

 

Max Sandborn got the win on the mound for Portland.

 

The Raiders are now 19-5 overall and 12-0 in the CAAC White this season and this week were ranked #17 in Division 2 in the MHSBCA poll.  They will travel to Grand Ledge on Monday for a single game, and then will start action in the 63rd Dean Shippey Capital Classic at MSU on Tuesday, 5/20, where they will face Mason at 5:00.
