Pediatric Rehabilitation Practice Opens in Portland
It’s a common misconception that children are just miniature adults. However, that’s just not true. While they are growing, kids need special medical care and sometimes that means the care of a physical therapist, occupational therapist, or speech therapist. With the opening of a new practice in Portland, that care is now closer to home for Portland area kids.
Ivy Rehab is a national network of rehabilitation clinics and has opened a new facility next door to Culp Chiropractic at 19751 Grand River Ave in Portland. The space was formerly the offices of Dentist Dr. Michael Mauren. The new practice is for pediatric services and is directed by Westphalia native Jenna Chartrand. Chartrand is a graduate of Baker College with both her bachelors in health science and masters in occupational therapy. With the opening of the Portland clinic, the Ivy Rehab network has 30 locations in Michigan and more than 500 across the eastern United States.
Chartrand is a Pediatric Occupational Therapist and also directs a team of other clinicians to provide physical, occupational and speech therapy services for their patients. “I am so excited to serve the Portland community and surrounding area,” says Chartrand, “offering occupational, speech, and physical therapy in one location will provide vital care to the area, without the commute.” She has been an OT since 2018 and is looking forward to working with Portland area children. Chartrand lives in Westphalia with her husband and son with another child on the way. Outside of work, she enjoys the outdoors, especially going “up north,” and attending concerts.
