Obituary for Virginia Martha (Fedewa) Meyers

Virginia Martha (Fedewa) Meyers was born on September 30, 1927 in Lansing, MI to Irma Fedewa Johnson.

Virginia married Bernard Meyers on January 15, 1946. They enjoyed many years of traveling and camping with their family, playing cards with friends, and going to Arizona in the winter. They also enjoyed time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Virginia was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed catering, doing needlework, baking, and she made the best homemade dressing for holiday parties. Always an adventurous spirit, she went white water rafting and kayaking and enjoyed a good highball.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; infant son, Bobby; son, Ron; and daughters, Maureen and Diane. Surviving are her children, Mike (Linda), Sue (George) Scarbrough, Gary (Bernie), Dave (Mike), Kevin (Teresa), and Dennis; daughter-in-law, Linda; special friends, Dave and Shannon; 20 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mike Alber at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 8, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with the rosary being prayed at 3:30 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E.
