Obituary for Suzanne Angela (Snider) Hildenbrand

Suzanne Angela Hildenbrand, age 73, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022. She was born on July 27, 1948 in Lansing, Michigan to Melford and Marcella (Miller) Snider. Sue was a graduate of Sexton High School and she worked for the State of Michigan Department of Social Services for over 34 years. Sue enjoyed going to the casino, reading, cooking and eating with her family. She was kindhearted and welcoming to all she met. Some of the most important advice that Sue offered to her children was that “everything happens for a reason”. On July 15, 1985, Sue married Joseph W. Hildenbrand and they shared 36 wonderful years of marriage together.

Preceding Sue in death are her parents; siblings, Tim Snider and John Snider; brother-in-law, Jim Beckwith; and mother and father-in-law, William and Ruth Hildenbrand. She is survived by her husband, Joe Hildenbrand of Portland; children, Kyle (Amanda) Keifer of Eagle, Cori (Sean) Milbourn of Lansing, and Christopher (Helen) Green of Connecticut; step-son, Chris (Jennifer) Hildenbrand of Portland; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bonnie (Don) Fisher, Barb (Bill) Dean, Judy Beckwith, Bernie (Phylis) Snider, Mark Snider, and Teresa (Rick) VanFosen; sisters-in-law, Sheila Snider and Lila Snider; Hildenbrand in-laws, Kay Ingalls, Karen (Ed) MacKenzie, Elaine Tackett, Rick (Joanne) Hildenbrand, and Tom (Shelly) Hildenbrand; and many special nieces and nephews.

A Visitation honoring Sue will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. For those wishing, contributions may be made to the Portland Community Fund in memory of Suzanne. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
