Gary Reisbig, 85, of Piedmont, South Carolina, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born November 3, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and public servant.
Gary proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958 to 1963 and remained active in supporting veterans through the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Lions Club, and the Knights of Columbus. He also served as Danby Township Supervisor from 1996 to 2002 and as a Board Director for PFCU Credit Union from 1998 to 2012. He was known for his thoughtful leadership, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others.
He enjoyed caring for his yard, camping with his wife and family, working on home improvement projects, as well as music and dancing. Above all, he cherished time with his family.
Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Carole Reisbig. He is survived by his daughter, Lynette Greenway; his son, Erik Reisbig (Sarah); brother-in-law Russell Yuhas; sister-in-law Maylene Reisbig; nephews Jason Yuhas (Amy) and Joshua Yuhas; and his grandchildren: Ashley Klein, Kaylee Reisbig, Kaiden Reisbig, Keegan Reisbig, Tyler Church, Wesson Poole, William Poole, and Ruger Poole, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Logan Weber for both Gary and his late wife, Carole, at 11:00 a.m., April 11, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland.
