Carl Allen Randall, of Portland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 8, 2026 at the age of 79. Allen was born in Lyons on November 6, 1946, the son of Floyd and Helen (Rounds) Randall. Allen was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country with honor. He was also a longtime member of the Portland United Methodist Church. Music was one of Allen’s greatest loves. He played in a band and often performed alongside his brothers, filling rooms with laughter and song. An avid Elvis Presley fan, he was proud to be able to say that he had met the “King” himself. Allen spent many years as a mail carrier in Ionia and Grand Ledge, where he became a familiar face to countless residents. It wasn’t uncommon for him to turn a simple delivery into a conversation, a laugh, or a lasting friendship. Everywhere he went, Allen seemed to collect people — friends he had met only minutes earlier but treated like family. Above all else, Allen was a devoted family man. He took great pride in his daughters and taught them how a woman should be loved and respected by a man. He will be deeply missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Preceding Allen in death are his parents, Floyd and Helen Randall; siblings, Floyd Randall, Jr., Jerry Randall, Nancy Hufnagel, and Norman Randall; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Randall and Sylvia Randall; and father and mother-in-law, Reynold and Mary Martin. Left to carry on his legacy are his beloved wife of 45 years, Arlene Randall; daughters, Carrie (Jonathan) Reene and Katie (Joseph) Nelson; siblings, Larry Randall, Dale Randall, Pat (John) Sierota, and Kevin Randall; and Martin in-laws, Kathy (Kurt) Pitch, Terry (Dawn) Martin, Jerry (Sharon) Martin, Dan (Josie) Martin, Ken (Laurie) Martin, Maryann (George) Hilton, and David Martin.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 3-7 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland.

The Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor Lenora Combs-Whitecotton at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the Portland United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Portland Cemetery with military honors provided by the Portland VFW Post #4090. Those wishing may make contributions to the Soup Project or Backpacks for Bellies in honor of Allen. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
