Lady Raiders fall to Lansing Catholic

The Portland High School girls basketball team traveled to Lansing Catholic on Friday night. It was a hard-fought game by both teams, and Lansing Catholic was able to pull out a three-point win, handing the Lady Raiders their first loss of the season.


Portland was led offensively by senior Breckyn Werner with 19 points. Seniors Ashley Bower and Ava Guilford added 12 points each.


The Cougars were led by sophomore Leah Richards who scored 23 points.


Scoring summary by quarter:

1st – 2nd – 3rd – 4th – Final

Portland 12 – 15 – 12 – 13 – 52

Lansing Catholic 10 – 10 – 16 – 19 – 55



Portland now moves to 6-1 overall, 2-1 in the CAAC White. On Wednesday they host Chelsea, before hosting Eaton Rapids on Friday.
