Diocese of Grand Rapids to offer in-person and virtual options for Christmas Mass

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Numerous options are available for people to join in the celebration of Christmas this year.
All are welcome to attend Mass in person; however, it’s important to plan ahead as churches throughout the diocese are requiring anyone who wishes to attend Mass in person to register ahead of time. The diocesan website offers a list of parish Mass schedules and links to sign up to attend Mass.
Parishes throughout the diocese have effective COVID-19 mitigation strategies in place to keep everyone safe while attending Mass in person. Visitors are required to wear a mask and observe diocesan guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Catholics in the Diocese of Grand Rapids are dispensed from their obligation to attend Mass through Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021.
In addition to in-person opportunities, Christmas Mass broadcasts from the Cathedral of Saint Andrew will be provided at the following times:
Christmas Eve: 4 p.m. – Vigil Mass (livestreamed on the diocesan website and Facebook)
11 p.m. – A prelude of carols with brass, strings, and choirs (livestreamed on the diocesan website and Facebook, as well on FOX 17). This is a recording of last year’s program.
Midnight: Mass live with Bishop Walkowiak presiding (livestreamed on the diocesan website and Facebook, and live on FOX 17.)
Christmas Day: 7 a.m. – replay of Midnight Mass on FOX 17.
