Consumers Energy, Confluence Hydro Host Community Meeting to Share Update on Webber Dam

Consumers Energy and Confluence Hydro are hosting a community conversation about the future of the Webber Dam. The public is invited to attend and learn more about Consumers Energy’s sale of the dam to Confluence Hydro.

 

WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 20, 6-7:30 p.m.

 

WHERE: Village of Muir Office, 122 Superior Street, Muir, MI 48860

 

WHAT: Representatives from Consumers Energy and Confluence Hydro will present information about the sale of Webber Dam and 12 other Michigan dams, then answer questions from community members. Michigan-based Public Sector Consultants will facilitate the conversation.

 

WORTH NOTING:

  • Consumers Energy recently announced it reached an agreement to sell its 13 dams, including Webber Dam, to Confluence Hydro.

  • The sale will reduce long-term costs for Consumers Energy customers, ensure the dams will continue to operate safely and provide economic and recreational benefits for nearby communities. The leadership team at Confluence Hydro has owned and operated dozens of power facilities, including hydroelectric dams, improving their safety, increasing their sustainability and generating clean, reliable energy for the communities they serve.
