On September 18, representatives from the Lansing Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution visited Portland Middle School to engage Social Studies classes in a special program recognizing Constitution Day. The event was organized by Travis Trierweiler, Social Studies instructor.
During the visit, students received Constitution Kits and participated in an educational presentation highlighting the history, significance, and enduring impact of the U.S. Constitution. Approximately 160 students took part in the program.
Each year, Constitution Week is observed from September 17–23, with Constitution Day specifically commemorating the signing of the United States Constitution on September 17, 1787. This observance serves as a reminder of the foundational principles of our nation and the importance of civic education for future generations.
