PHS Softball

The Lady Raiders picked up two wins over Charlotte on Tuesday, April 21st

 

Portland won game one 16-6.  Molly Miilu drove in six runs on four hits.  Bella Spitzley had three hits in the game.

 

Portland won game two 22-2. Spitzley drove in seven runs on four hist for Portland.  Lilly Thelen, Miilu, and Madison Daggett each added two hits. 

 

On Thursday, April 23rd, the Raiders fell to Williamston 8-6.  Veda Smith, Miilu, Rylee Miller and Daggett each had two hits in the game.

 

The Raiders are now 3-3 on the season.  Next week they will face Ionia and Lansing Catholic. 

 

SPS Softball

The Shamrocks hosted Fulton on Friday, April 17th.  St. Patrick lost game one 10-4, but bounced back in game two with an 8-5 win. 

 

The Shamrocks move to 1-3 on the season.

 

PHS Baseball

On Friday, April 17th, the Raiders dropped two games to Mason.

 

In game one, Mason won 5-1.  Hudson Martin and Bradley Meyers each had two hits for the Raiders. 

 

In game two, Mason won 7-3.  Deacon Townsend led the Portland offense with two hits. 

 

On Tuesday the 21st, the Raiders hosted Charlotte and picked up two CAAC White wins.

 

Game one was a 9-4 win for Portland.  Brody Moore (HR) and Gunnar Williams each had three hits and two RBIs in the game.  Connor Fox added two hits. 

 

Game two was a 14-0 run limit win for the Raiders.  Townsend and Martin each had two hits in the game.  Mason Vallier got the win on the mound in the five-inning contest. 

 

On Thursday the 23rd, Portland dropped two league games to Lansing Catholic.

 

In game one, Catholic won 9-0.  Catholic had an explosive eight run first inning in the game.  Portland held them to just one more run in the game, but Lansing Catholic pitching held the Raiders to just one hit in the game. 

 

In game two, Lansing Catholic won 6-4.  In a game shortened by darkness, Lansing Catholic held a 6-1 lead after four innings.  Portland picked up one run in the fifth, and another two in the sixth, but ended up falling in the CAAC White league contest. 

 

The Raiders are now 4-6 on the season.  They are scheduled to host Ionia on Tuesday and travel to St. Johns on Thursday. 

 

 

SPS Baseball

The Shamrocks faced Fulton on Friday, April 17th.

 

In game one, the Shamrocks got a 13-2 win.  Jerryd Scheurer, Brady Leonard, and Mason Simon each had two hits for the Shamrocks.  Charlie Thelen had five RBIs in the game.  Leonard and Isaiah Rockey each struck out three batters on the mound. 

 

In game two, the Shamrocks won 12-6. T Thelen had three hist in the game.  S Fedewa, Scheurer, and C Thelen combined to strike out eight batters on the mound. 

 

St. Patrick picked two wins over Perry on Monday, April 20th.

 

In the first game the Shamrocks won 15-0.  The Shamrocks tallied 10 hits in the game, led by Scheurer with three hits and three RBIs.  Leonard and T Thelen each struck out two batters.

 

In the second game, St. Patrick won 10-0.  Logan Howe had two hits and four RBIs.  T Thelen got the win pitching while striking out 4.  Rockey got the save striking out two. 

 

On Thursday the 23rd, the Shamrocks split with Pewamo-Westphalia. 

 

In game one, the Shamrocks got a 15-0 win.  Mason Simon had three hits and four RBIs in the game.  Rockey also had three hits.  Scheurer and Leonard each added two hits.

 

In game two, the Pirates won 3-0. P-W held the Shamrocks to just four hist in the game. 

 

The Shamrocks are now 7-1 on the season.  Next week they are scheduled to face Barry County Christian on Monday, Lansing Christian on Wednesday, and Bath on Thursday.
