Obituary for Ronald V. Shinaver, Jr.

Ronald Vincent Shinaver, Jr., age 54, of Portland, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020. He was born in Lansing, Michigan, the son of Ronald and Carol (Goodman) Shinaver, Sr. Ron was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a graduate of the Portland High School Class of 1984. He was a devoted employee at T.H.K. for 32 years. Ron loved animals and the outdoors, especially, fishing, camping, swimming, and boating. He was a proud uncle to nephew, Vincent and was a very kind, caring, and sensitive man.

Preceding Ron in death are his grandparents, George and Dorothy Goodman, Gerald Shinaver and Reva Shinaver Bell and several aunts and uncles. Surviving Ron are his parents; sister, Donna Shinaver; nephew, Vincent Shinaver; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special friends, Brenda, Jesse, and Chuck.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mike Alber at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
