Portland Township Seeking Treasurer

According to a post on the Township's web site, https://www.portlandtownship.org, “The Township Board is accepting applications for the Treasurer position to start on April 1, 2020, with training up until that date. You must be a resident of Portland Township. Necessary skills include computer operation, like to interact with people, good at math and have banking experience. You must have an email address and internet and phone. The Township provides a computer, printer, answering machine/fax, mobile tablet, adding machine and miscellaneous office supplies.”
The site also lists the responsibilities of the positions as:
- Collects real and personal property taxes - Keeps an account of township receipts (revenues) and expenditures - Issues township checks - Deposits township revenues in approved depositories - Invests township funds in approved investment vehicles - Collects delinquent personal property tax - Responsible for jeopardy assessments in collecting property tax - Collects mobile home specific tax - Must appoint a deputy - Must post a surety bond
