Obituary for Katherine E. Velcheck

Katherine E. Velcheck, age 98 of Portland, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019. She was born October 13, 1920 in Lansing, Michigan to Raymond and Edna (Howland) Kenyon. Katherine was a faithful member of the First Congregational Church and the Red Hatters Society. She loved cats and she was an elementary school teacher in Delton Township and Portland, retiring in 1980.

Preceding Katherine in death are her first husband, Burnett Hobner; second husband, Henry Kalmeyer; third husband, Frank Valcheck; son, James Joseph Hobner; and brother, Norman (Rachel) Kenyon. Surviving are her children, Kenneth (Nancy) Kalmeyer and John Kalmeyer; daughter-in-law, Lucinda Lou Hobner; grandchildren, Buddy and Michael Hobner and Morgan and Susan Kalmeyer; and several great-grandchildren.
