St. Pats Softball sweeps Fulton

May 18, 2019

The Lady Shamrocks visited Fulton to take on the Pirates on Thursday, May 16th. The Shamrocks took care of business, winning 8-4 and 2-0.

“What a night of competitive action at the plate! Cannfield from Fulton and Carley Scheurer put up a great fight and made each run difficult to get across the plate. We struggled both games to hit Cannfield’s curve but finally timed her out in Game One with enough time to put up two runs. Keelie and I weren’t convinced that was a big enough gap but our defense was solid and Carley threw an amazing game. Aurora Beckhold and Emma Weller both went 1-3, Aurora added a double and an RBI. In game two, Cannfield subbed in and out on the mound and made it possible for us to take an 8-4 victory. Ally Florian went 3-4, and Summer Russman added a timely double that really sparked an aggressive inning. These two wins were important to our ranking in the league, so we were very proud of the girls and their efforts to solidify those wins. Next week, we face P-W and they will serve some tough competition when we meet up with them, and we look forward to a matchup of grit.”
