The Shamrock softball team traveled south to play against CMAC foe Dansville. The Shamrocks put together two complete games, and were able to walk away with two victories, winning 9-5 and 7-6.
Coach Rockey was thrilled to pull out 2 wins against a very strong Dansville team. "We are extremely pleased with tonight’s outcome and the effort shown from our ladies this evening. Heading into the contest we knew Dansville had rebuilt a really tough team that was contending with our league leaders thus far. The girls worked really hard during practice on Wednesday and came ready to play this evening. We were aggressive at the plate in game one, and Lydia Meredith led our team hitting 3-4 with a triple, and a walk. Emma Weller went 1-2 and added two walks. Ally Florian has three RBI’s, Irene Mackowiak and Mara Schrauben each added an additional RBI for our team. This paired with some excellent pitching from our senior leader, Summer Russman allowed us to take a lead and hold the Aggies off for a win. In game two, we fell behind in the first two innings by three runs but the girls kept the intensity from game one and carried it over to game two. Lydia Meredith went 2-4, Ally Florian went 1-2 with two walks, Aurora Beckhold went 1-3 but added two RBIs. Our defense played very well and with Carly Scheurer on the mound, we were able to head into the seventh down one. Samee Teachworth scored the tying run after a passed ball, and Aurora Beckhold hit a two out- fly ball to the outfield to score Ally Florian from third to win the game. The entire evening we were forced to battle strong wind and field adversity, but the girls really stuck with it and locked in two tough wins against a very good Dansville team."
