Obituary for Leon J. Hufnagel

Leon J. Hufnagel, age 79, of Portland, passed away May 5, 2019. He was born June 24, 1939 in Pewamo, Michigan, the son of Herman and Bernita (Thelen) Hufnagel. He married his beloved wife, Karen (Fryover) on January 11, 1964 and she preceded him in death in 1993. He cherished his boys and family and liked to drop-in to visit them. Many will miss Leon cruising on the backroads. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service.

Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Karen; and siblings, Elaine Thelen and Helen Hufnagel. He is survived by his sons, Herman (Sharon) Hufnagel, Sam (Dawn) Hufnagel, Joe (Sherri) Hufnagel, and Tom (Verketia) Hufnagel; grandchildren, Trenton, Alex, Aryn, Marcus, and Troy; siblings, Theresa Burnham, Gladys Wright, Germaine Smith, and Carol Wohlfert; and many nieces and nephews.
