Obituary for Sandra Ann Platte
Sandra Ann Platte, age 71, of Portland, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born February 14, 1948, the daughter of Raymond and Catherine (Smith) Chartrand. Sandy was a member of Mt. Hope Church in Portland and the V.F.W. Post #4090 Ladies Auxiliary. She retired from the Michigan Department of Treasury after many years. Sandy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, shopping, going to the casino, and spoiling her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Lori Newman and infant daughter, LeeAnn; sisters-in-law, Rose Lyon and Trudy Platte; step-brothers-in-law, Robert (Joanne) Howard and Harold Howard; and brother-in-law, Mike Benton. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Hilary; sons, Raymond Platte and Robert (Michelle) Platte; grandchildren, Kassandra (Ryan) Vincent, Karl (fiancée, Megan Graham) Newman, Brent Speer, Derek Platte, Taylor Challender, Keely Platte and Noah Platte; and her special grand dogs. Also surviving are her siblings, Gary (Marlene) Chartrand, Tim Chartrand, Cathy (Dan) Shattuck, Becky (Nick) Henry, Mary (Dave) Dothsuk, Shelly Chartrand and Lisa (Terry) Morris; sister-in-law, Marti Chartrand; special friends, Sharon and Bob Schalow, Robert Hirschman, and Vickie and Larry Anthony; several in-laws and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Joe Robbe at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 15, 2019 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Interment will be in Portland Cemetery.
