Obituary for Patricia “Pat” Elizabeth Baker

Age 85, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born on April 9, 1933 the daughter of Bernard and Anna (Schafer) Smith. On February 12, 1955 she married Keith Baker and together shared 63 years of marriage. Pat had many jobs around the Portland area including working at Dr. Anderson’s office, playground helper with Portland schools, babysitting, the Portland Elevator, the Portland Hardware store and the laundry mat. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmom, Ida Smith; brothers Mike and Fritz Smith; sisters Carolyn Wirth and Dorthea Kelley; Surviving are her husband, Keith; son, John (Cheryl) Baker and daughter, Deb (Gary) Beard; grandchildren Patti (Wade) Fish, Brad (Jill Wolfe) Beard, Nichole (Samantha) Beard and Ben (Katie) Beard; 5 great grandchildren; sisters Donna Hubbard and Ernie Root; sister-in-law, Joann Smith; brother-in-law, Dick Kelley. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mike Alber at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will be in Keefer Cemetery, Lyons. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass. The rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The family would like to thank the staff at Portland Assisted Living and Memory Care and a special thank you to Betty Honsowitz for her love and care she gave our mother.
