Obituary for Duane Meredith Main

Duane Meredith Main, age 83, of Lyons, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was a member of the Portland Church of the Nazerene. Duane was an avid organic gardener, feeding his family and the community. He was a well-known baker, best known for his strawberry shortcake and various desserts. Duane loved people and always had a pocket full of candy to share, he was always sure to hand mints and gum to children as they walked through the door. He was a selfless donor with the Red Cross, donating over 30 gallons blood and platelets.

Surviving Duane are his beloved wife of 61 years, Eileen; children, Gregory Duane Main, Debra Eileen (Nicholas) Rowe; Daniel Clifford (LeAnn) Main; and David Harley (Carrie) Main; grandchildren, Greg (Amanda), Christina (Steve), Jamie (Edward), Jason (Lauren), John, Ashley, Sarah, Jared, Chelsea, David (Jessica), and Bethany (Enrick); great-grandchildren, Grace, Madison, Rachel, Harper, Holden, Alexis, Carter, Braylon, Kiera, Devin, and Destiny. Preceding him in death are his parents; two sisters; and a brother.

A private family Memorial Celebration will be held at this time. A Memorial Service will be held at the Portland Church of the Nazarene at a later date. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or Eaton Community Palliative Care in honor of Duane. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
