Obituary for Leonarda (Heck) Benschoter

Leonarda (Heck) Benschoter went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2018, at the age of 85.

She was born and raised in Ortenberg, Germany on December 19, 1932. She met her husband of 62 years, James while he was serving in the military. They returned to the U.S. and reside in Sunfield.

Linda had a son, Jim, born in Germany, who passed away in 2009. She also had a daughter, Delores, whom passed away in 1965.

Surviving are her husband, James; her daughter, Karen, who resides in Sunfield with her husband, Terry Lafler, their sons, Nicholas (Ashley) and Matthew (Nichelle), and their children, Lex and Emma; daughter-in-law, Julie Benschoter, her daughters, Kristi (Derek) Waddle, their children, Elizabeth, Ezra, Gabrielle, Ethan, and Eyvah, Jill (Nicole) Benschoter, their children, Raegan and Corbin, and Kellie (Jason) Abfalter, their children, Jayden, Dylan, and Lauryn; brother, Wilfried (Brunhilda) Heck and family; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Duncan and family; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Linda enjoyed baking, kitting, trips to Shipshewana, and spending time with her family.

A Memorial Service and luncheon will be held at the Portland V.F.W. #4090 at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2018. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
