A Call for Support
In order for The Portland Beacon to continue serving this fine community, we need your support. Many of you are already sending us your ideas and wonderful stories, and we appreciate those. Our growth in these first months has been incredible.
In order to keep this thing going, we ask for your financial support as well. We keep our operation as bare bones as possible, but some expenses are unavoidable, and to finance new content, we need your support. There is only so much that one person can cover.

If you are a local business owner, please consider advertising with us. I think you will be hard pressed to find another advertising option that offers you the value we can, while keeping your message right I front of local people who care. And at the same time, you are investing in local journalism focused right here on local businesses, schools and people.
While The Portland Beacon is still a very new site, started in August 2017, we have already built a loyal online following in this community. In the last three months, we have averaged 5,691 pageviews per month. Our Facebook page has 801 followers and we have 246 subscribers to our weekly newsletter email (as of 1/11/18).
We do not have the most sophisticated site by any means, but we can make your ad a clickable link to any website you choose.
If you are already advertising in printed newspapers in the area, we believe our site may be an excellent option for you to reach readers who live in the rural area surrounding Portland who do not receive those papers.
