United Way's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program is looking for volunteers
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for Montcalm, Ionia, Clinton, and Gratiot counties is seeking volunteers. If you are not familiar with VITA, we are an IRS grant-funded program that prepares tax returns at no cost for any household with an income of under $60,000. Doing so saves taxpayers hundreds of dollars in tax preparation fees. We rely on trained and IRS-certified volunteers to accomplish this task. No experience is necessary and volunteer duties vary from being a greeter to an advanced tax preparer.
Due to the pandemic, our volunteer pool has dwindled, and volunteers are needed right away.
