Shamrocks finish season with a loss
The Shamrock football team faced some adversity this season. Starting off the season with only one senior, he fell to a broken collarbone in the fourth game and never returned. Younger players attempted to step up, but fell just a bit short. St. Patrick travelled to Mount Pleasant for a final season game versus Sacred Heart Academy. In the first quarter it was all Sacred Heart, with the Irish scoring twice, leaving the score 16-0 after one quarter.
In the second quarter, the Irish increased their lead to 22-0 before the Shamrocks found their stride and struck back on a 70 yard breakaway from Lucas Simon, and two point conversion from Devin Cook. This left the score 22-8 at halftime with Sacred Heart leading.
After the half, the Shamrocks and Irish traded scores, with St. Patrick scoring on a 32 yard touchdown pass from Brady Leonard to Lucas Simon. This left the score 28-14 after three quarters of play.
