It was a beautiful day for softball and our fans turned out for this tournament! In game 1, we hit the ball well and fielded cleanly. We were able to mercy LLSM in 5 innings. In game 2 we faced 6th ranked MPSH and scored in the third and fifth innings enough to hold on and keep our lead until the seventh inning. The grit the girls showed holding a top ranked team was unmatched and we showed our growth over the last few months and took the tournament championship. We continue to work towards the best version of ourselves as we inch closer to District play.

Coaching Staff Comments:
Going into a set of games against the number one ranked team on Division 3- you know what to expect… A talented team with top pitching, solid defense and an array of batting strengths. Tonight Laingsburg delivered those qualities and while we lost both games - we do feel that we grew as a team tonight and continued to climb our ladder to the postseason. Our plate appearances allowed runners on base almost every inning, we had successful small ball opportunities, and we also had some great hits against some top pitching in the area. Despite the losses we find reasons to applaud our team and areas to improve and tweak before Districts next week.

The girls came out and shut down the week with two good wins. We worked hard at the plate with our pitch selection and made some great outs defensively. Tori did a great job pitching 8 total innings tonight and together the team gathered two more wins.
