Shamrock Softball secures League Title with wins over Fulton

The Shamrocks traveled to Fulton for the final league play in their season - where they took two wins and clinched the League Title!

Game 1: 11-0

Rylee Scheurer pitched a 5 inning game with 7 strikeouts. Tori Sandborn went 1/2 with an RBI, Emma Honsowitz went 1/2 with a Sac Bunt, Rylee Scheurer added 3 RBIs, Carly Scheurer added 2 RBIs, and Lydia Meredith and Mara Schruaben each added an RBI for the mercy win.

Game 2: 5-1

Carly Scheurer pitched a complete 7 inning game and had 7 strikeouts. Carly Scheurer also led at the plate going 2/4 with a double, triple, and an RBI. Mara Schrauben went 2/3 with a double and an RBI, Rylee Scheurer added a double and Natalee Teachworth had a triple and an RBI.

Coaches Comments:

As always, our league play is intense and challenging. Fulton had runners on in many innings, but our defense and pitching stepped up to shut them down. Our bats were a little slow to start but then came around to allow us a comfortable lead in both games. From the start of league play to then end (this evening) we knew that we had the skill sets, desire, and determination to play well and be at the top of the league - but each win and doubleheader sweep made it that much more achievable. We are proud of these girls and how much they give to our team to work together to achieve first place in the CMAC. We look forward to making small tweaks against Holt, Leslie, and in two good quality tournaments to prepare for the post season.
