Shamrock Girls top Potterville and Perry
The St. Patrick girls basketball team played at Potterville Wednesday night and defeated the Vikings 44-21. The Shamrocks were led offensively by Mattie Honsowitz with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Macie Smith scored 8 points, and Gracelyn Rockey scored 7 with 12 rebounds. Potterville was led by Emily Cates with 8 points.
On Friday, the St. Patrick’s girls basketball team hosted Perry where the Shamrocks defeated the Ramblers 45-23. The Shamrocks were led by Mattie Honsowitz with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Gracelyn Rockey had 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Lily Sandborn had 7 points and 5 steals. The Ramblers were led by Addison Lanpron and Abigail Cochran both with 6 points.
The highlight of the evening included the honoring of the youth girls basketball programs at St. Patrick’s. The mentorship of student athletes, and guidance in faith, in our building is an inspirational and encouraging experience for all girl athletes in these programs. The Shamrock varsity girls are now 10-5 overall and 9-4 in the CMAC. Next week they travel to Lansing Christian on Wednesday and then to Saranac on Friday.
