Shamrock boys sweep Saranac

On Monday, May 24 the Shamrocks from Portland St. Patrick visited Saranac for a doubleheader against the Redskins. The Shamrocks played solid defense, and won both games.
In the first game, The game was close until the very end. Tied at 1-1 after one inning, Saranac scored 2 in the second inning, only to have St. Patrick score 2 in the 3rd inning. The Shamrocks broke loose a little, scoring 4 in the 5th inning, and added another 5 in the 7th inning to win 12-3. Chase Fitzsimmons was 2 for 2, with 4 RBI's, and Connor Cross was 2 for 5.
In the second game, both teams played good defense, but the Shamrocks were able to score a little at a time, putting up 2 runs in the 1st and 2nd inning, and 1 run in the 3rd, 4th and 7th inning. St. Patrick held on to win 7-5. Evan Schrauben and Brayden Simon split the innings, with Brayden Simon getting the win striking out 7 batters. Offensive leaders were Alex Fedewa who went 3 for 3 with 1 RBI, Connor Cross who went 2 for 2 with an RBI, and Chase Fitzsimmons who went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI.
The Shamrocks have a doubleheader against Belding on Friday, May 28th at Belding.
