Shamrock Baseball falls to Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart in state quarterfinals

After winning their district last weekend, the Shamrocks faced Saginaw Nouvel Catholic Central on Wednesday in the regional semi-finals. The shamrocks defeated Panthers 15-0 in three innings. Jerryd Scheurer, Tyler Thelen and Mason Simon each had two hits in the game. Tyler Thelen got the win on the mound striking out two and holding Nouvel hitless.

On Saturday, St. Patrick defeated Maple City Glen Lake 9-1 in the regional finals at Central Michigan University. The Shamrocks tallied 11 hist in the game. Simon led with two hits and three RBIs. Scheurer had two hits and one RBI. Tyler Thelen had two hits. Brady Leonard got the win on the mound, striking out nine and allowing just three hits.

Later on Saturday, the Shamrocks faced Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart in the quarterfinals, and fell 4-2. Scheurer, Charlie Thelen, Tyler Thelen, and Isaiah Rockey each had one hit in the game. Sean Fedewa went four innings on the mound and struck out five. Scheurer went two innings and struck out one.

The Shamrocks finish their season with a 31-3 record.
Sacred Heart will face Royal Oak Shrine Catholic on June 12th at MSU for the D4 semifinals. The winner of that game will face the winner of Marcellus and Painesdale Jeffers in the finals on June 13th at MSU.
