Raider Wrestling Recap - DeWitt Quad
The Raider Wrestlers took a short trip Saturday to visit our neighbors in DeWitt. The three duals proved to be challenging as the Raiders were handed their 2nd loss of the season.
The Raiders handled both Grand Blanc (47-25) and Waverly (53-18) without many issues but lost to DeWitt in an exciting duel by two points (36-38).
Coach Pulling summarized the day acknowledging their loss but focused on their positives, “We took our lumps today, no doubt. However, we are a tough group with specific goals and a tremendous amount of willpower. Sure we didn’t have our traditional lineup, but this isn’t a traditional year. We were able to rely on some younger talent stepping up and willing to battle. I’m proud and excited for our guys, they just keep showing up with a hunger to get better.”
This performance moved the team to 9-2 on the season. Going undefeated for the Raider Grapplers were: Chandler Murton (171) with 2 pins and a forfeit, Branson Goodman (215) with 2 pins and a forfeit, Drew Miller (130/135) with a Technical Fall (15-0), forfeit and a pin, Isaiah Pelc with 2 forfeits and a pin, and Deakin Guidi (152) with 2 pins and a forfeit.
