Raider Wrestling goes 2-0 on “Night of Gratitude”
On Wednesday night the Raider Wrestlers hosted a double dual against the Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central Rangers and the Bendle Tigers. This event was a special one, as it was the Raider Wrestler’s “Night of Gratitude”. Each wrestler nominated an adult in the Portland Community that they are grateful for and presented them with a gift while recognizing them in the center of the gym, it was a special moment.
In the first round of wrestling action the Raider Wrestlers outscored the Rangers 66-15 recording 9 pins. The fastest pin of the night went to Freshman Andrew Feldpausch at the 106 lb weight class who only used :21 seconds to claim the victory. This is the second time this season Andrew has recorded the fastest pin on the team!
In the second round, the Raiders kept a clean slate ousting the Tigers 77-0. The fastest pin went to both Mason McGregor and John Dodson who pinned in back-to-back matches at just :27 seconds. It was a very exciting and impressive part of the dual!
Congratulations to those adults nominated for the Raider Wrestling “Night of Gratitude” and to the Raider Wrestling squad moving to 7-2 overall.
Catch the Raider Wrestlers in action at Lakewood High School on December 21st for the Ionia County Duals, where they will take on Belding and Lakewood for some very competitive wrestling!
