Raider Wrestlers Donate Big to Portland Backpacks for Bellies

As this week comes to a close, so will the 2021-22 Raider Wrestling season. In their last week, the wrestlers have worked hard, prepared for state finals and mixed in some fun.
More importantly this week, they also found time to serve their community. Head Coach Andy Pulling explained why. "We have three pillars to our wrestling program: Moral, Mental, and Physical. We discuss and work on these three pillars each day in our practice room. They are vital to who we are and what we do. Our guys know serving our community is a moral responsibility we have." This week the Raider Wrestlers donated over 250 jars of peanut butter to the Portland Backpacks for Bellies (PBB) Organization. The PBB is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers from the Portland Community focused on providing meals to students in the Portland Area. (https://www.facebook.com/portlandbackpacksforbellies/) With the days getting longer and the snow melting away, spring break in the Portland Community is nearing. Typically, this is a time for celebration and vacation, however this can be a time of need as well. Students who rely on a school system for two or more meals each day, will be out of their routines creating a need for food and whole meals. This is where the PBB steps in and supports students and families with popular food items that they collect, organize and distribute. If you too are interested in volunteering or making a donation, please contact the PBB using their Facebook page (linked above), send an email: pbbportland@gmail.com or even by phone: (517) 285-6518.
