Raider Softball takes two from Lansing Catholic

The Portland High School softball team hosted Lansing Catholic on Tuesday afternoon.

Game 1: Portland 13 Lansing - Catholic 3

Senior Brooke Seal went two for two at the plate with four RBIs. Madison Lockwood, Paige Pung, Aubree Faulkner and Stella Durrant each added two hits for the Raiders. Sophia Novara pitched the complete game striking out eight cougars and only allowing four hits.

Game 2: Portland 14 Lansing - Catholic 7

Novara and Seal each pitched three innings in the second game and combined to strike out nine Cougar hitters while allowing eight hits. The Raiders tallied 16 hits in this game. Pung went five for five at the plate with one RBI. Gina Sonday went three for four with and RBI, while Seal went three for five with three RBIs.

Next Action

The Raiders will host the first annual Jack Anderson Invitational on Saturday. Opponents will include Ovid Elsie, Holt, and a third team to be determined as Petoskey withdrew. Action starts at 11:00 AM.
